ISPI Gold Coast Chapter Meeting:Seven Deadly Sins of Strategic Planning: Regaining Rationality

Please join us at our regular Chapter Meeting: Tuesday evening, July 12, 2005, 5:30 pm, at the NSU Main Campus in room 2067 of the Carl Desantis Building (Wayne Huizenga School of Entrepreneurship), for a great Kaufman session:

"Seven Deadly Sins of Strategic Planning: Regaining Rationality"

Sin is a strong word, but it fits the world of strategic planning; seven bad things usually happen when people set out to do strategic planning. Though these "sins" are conventional, sound right, and are acceptable, but when they are committed things turn out badly. These "sinful" strategic planning approaches escape into otherwise well-meaning organizations. But rationality would change this. Here are the Seven and what you can do to overcome them.

• Bring a colleague to the meeting. If your colleague joins the chapter at the meeting, their meeting fee is waived and your meeting fee is half off the regular price. (Does not apply to Web site applicants).

• The meeting fee is waived for college instructors who have five or more students attending the meeting. Graduate students receive a special meeting and membership rate.

• No shows and cancellations made after noon on Friday, July 8th will be billed $20.00 due to the guaranteed reservations required by the caterer.

Directions to the Meeting

- Take 1-95, north or south, or Florida's Turnpike, north or south.
- Take I-595 exit, westbound;
- Proceed on I-595 to University Drive;
- Turn left and proceed southbound on University Drive to SW 30th Street;
- Turn left onto SW 30th Street and proceed approximately 1/2 mile;
- Turn right onto Ray Ferrero Jr. Boulevard;
- Then, make your 1st left to the Carl DeSantis Building.
