Dr. Darryl Sink is president of Darryl L. Sink & Associates, Inc., a Monterey, California firm specializing in HPT consulting and custom training development. DSA also presents a variety of workshops related to HPT and instructional design. He is a contributing author to both editions of the ISPI Handbook of Human Performance Technology, published by Jossey Bass. He is the recipient of ISPI’s Professional Service Award for his service to the organization. DSA was twice awarded the Outstanding Instructional Product Of The Year Award by ISPI. He was elected Vice President of ISPI’s International Board and his company is a Sustaining Member of ISPI.

Topics Include:
- Identify the business needs and drivers.
- Specify the program or course goals based on the business needs.
- Generate a content analysis related to the program goals using procedural and hierarchical task analysis procedures.
- Write key and enabling learning objectives using the task analysis.
- Develop procedures to test the key and enabling objectives including selected response test, constructed response test, and checklist.
- Develop your lessons/modules using an eight-step lesson design.
- Select and/or design learning activities including authentic practice, case studies, role-plays and other involvement activities for your program.
- Plan for gathering data for Payoff and ROI studies tied to the business needs and for the cost/benefit analysis of the training intervention.
